My Brain and My Feelings!
Understanding how the brain functions during stressful, scary or unknown situations will allow students to develop a plan to deal with what comes up in life.

Each 9-weeks there will be a different focus on character traits that will educate students toward becoming lifelong good citizens. Students can find updated info on the traits on the bulletin board outside Mrs. Brown's office each nine weeks.
1st Nine Weeks: Responsibility, accountability, perseverance, diligence, and self-control.
2nd Nine Weeks: Trustworthiness, loyalty, integrity, reliability, and punctuality.
3rd Nine Weeks: Caring, kindness, empathy, charity, generosity, patience, consideration, and compassion.
4th Nine Weeks: Citizenship, respect, courtesy, concern for the common good and the community, fairness, freedom from prejudice, justice, patriotism, school pride, respect for authority and law, and gratitude.
These traits are adopted directly from §120.3. Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for Positive Character Traits, Grades K-5, Adopted 2020.
Who is a students #1 Advocate?
Students must speak up and share how they need help, they are the only one that can 100% share what is going on with them. Encourage your student to find someone that will listen and that they feel confident in sharing how they need support.
