As an Elementary Teacher: I have extensive elementary teaching experience, having taught second through fifth grades, including Fifth Grade (2017-18), Fourth Grade (2014-2016), and Second and Third Grades in earlier years. I’ve also served as a Gifted and Talented teacher for Fourth Grade (2016–17) and contributed to various school committees such as the Campus Site-Based Decision-Making Committee, Grade-Level Leadership, Textbook Adoption, and District Site-Based Decision-Making. Additionally, I have been involved in tutoring for TAKS/STAAR, implementing technology initiatives like iLearn, and supporting extracurricular activities including Science Olympiad and the Coyote Chess Club. My roles also include participation in the Climate Committee, Balanced Literacy Cadre, and Camp Invention, along with professional development through the ESC Region 12 Reading Academy and KISD Curriculum Council, and most recently, a High-Quality Provider of Dyslexia Instruction (HQPDI), further emphasizing my commitment to student literacy and success.
As a Secondary Teacher: In addition to my elementary roles, I have secondary teaching and coaching experience, including serving as a Cheerleading Coach from 2005 to 2007 and teaching Choral Music from 1999 to 2007. I also taught Sixth Grade Science during the 2004-05 school year and contributed to various school improvement initiatives as a member of the AVID Site Team, TAKS Academy, and Campus Design Team from 2004 to 2007, supporting school-wide programs and student achievement.
As an Elementary Administrator: I have held several key administrative roles, including Assistant Principal and Campus Testing Coordinator, supporting school-wide operations from 2022 to 2024. I served as Elementary Summer Learning Director twice, overseeing summer programs to promote student growth. Additionally, I worked as a Curriculum Instructional Specialist, facilitating curriculum development and instructional best practices, and as a Campus Facilitator of Special Programs (SpEd/504), ensuring compliance and support for students with special needs. These roles reflect my commitment to enhancing educational quality, student success, and school leadership.
