Dear Lamar RE 2 Students, Staff and Parents,
I would like to take this opportunity to say how honored and excited I am to serve as the Superintendent of the Lamar School District. Relationships are an integral part of the community and I am thankful for the opportunity to be part of such a welcoming environment. It is a privilege to lead the staff, students and parents of this great community.
As a new member of the district and community, I look forward to my interactions with you. My wife and I are parents of three students who look forward to beginning school next year. The district will continue to strive for excellence in academic and activity endeavors as we partner with each other to deliver upon the mission of our school district:
The mission of Lamar School District RE 2 is to provide, within a safe environment, meaningful opportunities, experiences, and guidance, combined with high expectations that will enable each life-long learner to be a moral, ethical, responsible and productive member of society.
The past 16 months provided many stories of heartache, perseverance and resilience as staff, students and parents were tasked with extremely challenging circumstances. Thank you for your tireless efforts as they are recognized and appreciated. A new school year welcomes us around the corner and I cannot wait to be a part of ongoing student success!

Me gustaría aprovechar esta oportunidad para decir lo honrado y emocionado que estoy de servir como Superintendente del Distrito Escolar de Lamar. Las relaciones son una parte integral de la comunidad y estoy agradecido por la oportunidad de ser parte de un ambiente tan acogedor. Es un privilegio liderar al personal, los estudiantes y los padres de esta gran comunidad.
Como nuevo miembro del distrito y la comunidad, espero con interés mis interacciones con usted. Mi esposa y yo somos padres de tres estudiantes que esperan comenzar la escuela el próximo año. Krug Named New Superintendent
The Lamar School District held interviews of Superintendent Candidates on February 11th and 12th, which also included tours of the district buildings, a community roundtable, and a candidate forum with the Lamar Education Association. Interviews were conducted with four candidate finalists and consisted of 3 interview committees made up of community representatives, district staff and school board members. At the conclusion of the interview process and after accepting recommendations from the interview committees, the Board of Education voted to extend a 3-year Superintendent contract to Chad Krug, Ed.D.
Dr. Krug is currently the Assistant Superintendent in the Ulysses, KS school district and has 20 years of experience in education and 17 years of experience in education administration. Dr. Krug holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Master of Science in Educational Administration, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership.
The Board of Education looks forward to welcoming Dr. Krug, his wife Kate and their three children Cole (15), Addy (12), and Ty (9) to Lamar. Dr. Krug will join the Lamar School District team July 1, 2021.
