REGISTRATION IS NOT NECESSARY FOR STUDENTS WHO ARE TESTING DURING THE SCHOOL DAY. READ MORE BELOW.
We have "National" dates when the ACT is administered at OGHS on certain SATURDAYS throughout the school year. For the "National" dates you must go to the above site to register. If your student qualifies for free/reduced lunch, they may also qualify for a free ACT voucher that may be used during National ACT testing. Have your student pick up a form from the attendance office if they need a voucher. Voucher approvals may take up to two weeks.
During the school day, OGHS offers two free ACTs to 11th graders. One is paid by Lamar County School District, and one is paid by the Mississippi Department of Education. These ACTs are usually in October and February. THE SCHOOL TESTING COORDINATOR WILL REGISTER ALL STUDENTS WHO WILL BE TAKING THIS EXAM. If the budget allows, we also give the 10th graders a free ACT generally in March. STUDENTS MUST BE CLASSIFIED IN THESE GRADE LEVELS IN SAM (the school's attendance software) TO RECEIVE THE FREE ASSESSMENTS.
NOTE: PLEASE HAVE YOUR STUDENT USE A PROFESSIONAL, NON-SCHOOL EMAIL WHEN REGISTERING FOR NATIONAL EXAMS.
PLEASE USE THEIR LEGAL NAME ON THEIR BIRTH CERTIFICATE: FIRST NAME, MIDDLE INITIAL, LAST NAME. THIS IS IMPORTANT SO THEIR SCHOOL ASSESSMENT INFORMATION WILL MATCH THEIR NATIONAL TEST INFORMATION.
