LHS Counseling Dept

Ohio's College Credit Plus can help students earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking college courses from community colleges or universities. The purpose of this program is to promote rigorous academic pursuits and to provide a wide variety of options to college-ready students. Taking a college course from a public college or university through College Credit Plus is free. That means no cost for tuition, books or fees. If you choose to attend a private college or university, you may have limited costs.

CCP Step by Step:

1. Attend a CCP Info night with a parent/ guardian. There are several area meetings, you only need to attend one meeting with a parent. Wednesday, February 11, 2026 @ 6:00 pm Lakewood High School PAC 2026 LHS College Credit Plus Meeting slide deck.

2. Submit the Intent to Participate Form. This needs to be submitted each year you intend to participate in CCP. It's the green paper handed out at the meeting/obtained from the counseling office or you can print from the link above. Due by April 1, 2026.

3. Click here to complete the Lakewood High School CCP Counseling Form. Due by April 15, 2026.

4. Schedule a meeting with Mrs. Maybury to complete your CCP Counseling Session. Email at jmaybury@lakewoodlocal.org.

5. Complete the LHS CCP Student Questionnaire by April 15, 2026, so we know where you are applying to college for CCP. If your plans change, resubmit this form.

6. Apply to Institute(s) of Higher Education (colleges). Colleges where our students typically apply are below.

7. Submit College placement test scores (ACT/SAT) to each institution or schedule placement testing through that college/university.

8. Attend your college's orientation and placement testing (if needed).

9. Schedule your college classes with your college admissions counselor.

10. Need course materials or books for your CCP class? Email Mrs. Maybury, CCP coordinator, at jmaybury@lakewoodlocal.org

11. Meet with your LHS counselor, provide a copy of your college schedule, and finalize your LHS schedule.

12. After each term, it is the responsibility of the college student to submit grades to your school counselor so they are added to transcript and can be figured for eligibility.
