7th Grade Band Performs "The Tempest" - Robert W. Smith

6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Bands

6th, 7th, and 8th grade band classes occur during the school day at Lakewood Middle School. 6th grade band is 3rd period, 7th grade band is 4th period, and 8th grade band is 5th period. All band classes are yearlong courses. Each band will perform a minimum of two concerts per year: One in December, and the other in May.

8th Grade Jazz Band

8th Grade Jazz Band meets during the Leaders and Learners period of the school day before 1st period. The 8th Grade Jazz Band is a select group of students whose membership is contingent upon solid character, good grades, and exemplary musicianship. Jazz Band members may be called upon to do additional performances throughout the year, time permitting.
