As Leah and Bob got closer and closer to town they noticed something...or actually nothing. There was no one, anywhere!

“What is going on Captain Bob?’ said Leah. “The kids should be heading to school and parents to work. Where is everyone?'

“Maybe our calculations were wrong. Maybe it’s Saturday,” said Bob. “I read that people on Earth don’t work or go to school on Saturdays!”

“If they don’t work on Saturdays then where would we find them?” said Leah.

Suddenly a whoosh went by them, it was the giant chihuahua. “Come back!” They both yelled but it was too late. He was already gone.

"Was that crazy dog carrying a burrito wrapper in his mouth?" asked Leah.

“I couldn't tell what it was. I'm sure he will be giving us more trouble on this mission. Anyway, what were we talking about before that giant, taco-stealing, resin-licking, pill-eating pest went running by?” Bob asked.

“Where do the people go on Saturdays if not work or school? And how can we find Justin and Evangeline if the school is closed?” said Leah.

“The park,” said Bob. "I remember it well from my last visit on earth in 1902. "I'll tell you about that sometime. But I must say, there have been some changes around here. From what I remember...." He turned his head to examine the town around him.

Bob and Leah walked further until they came to a grassy area that was fenced in. The sun had moved farther toward the center of the sky, so they knew from their training that it must have been about 11:00 in the morning. As they got closer they noticed that there were only two kids at the park. They were all by themselves. They wore dirty clothes with holes in them.

Bob and Leah hid and watched them for a while.

“We look to be about the same size as they are, Captain,” said Leah “Luckily our lack of growth pills won’t be a problem.”

Bob nodded his head, but added, "Right, just remember not to call me Captain or Captain Bob. Okay? We are supposed to be kids."

Leah smiled. "Ooh, yeah! Sorry about that! Is that why you're being so nice now?"

"What do you mean?" asked Bob with surprise.

"Well, you were getting very angry on the ship. I wondered if the niceness is part of your disguise."

Bob was embarrassed by Leah's honest answer. "Um, yeah. Sorry about being so grumpy on the ship. This mission is not an easy one for me. And so much seems to be going wrong. If you must know, I have been trying to be nicer. It's not just a disguise."

"Good," said Leah with a smile. "You're much easier to work with this way, um, not-a-Captain Bob."

"Please just call me Bob," he whispered. "Now let's go introduce ourselves to the kids."

The two aliens, looking just like human kids, approached the children in the park. Bob gave his best friendly greeting. "Hi!" he said with a smile.

The children backed up. “Stay 6 feet away!” the boy said.

Leah and Bob looked at each other, confused.

“Are you Justin and Evangeline?’ Bob asked.

“No, we are Evan and Justice Cooper,” he told them.

Leah and Bob panicked for a minute when they heard the last name. Leah's mouth dropped open as she looked at Bob. He just shook his head, then turned to Evan and Justice. Leah had nearly forgotten they changed their last name from Cooper to Garlicbreath. Good thing, she thought.

Suddenly a whoosh went by them, along with a thud on that shook the ground a bit. It was that giant chihuahua again.

“What was that?” said Evan and Justice at the same time. "It looked scary!” continued Justice.

“I didn’t see anything,” said Leah, acting like the sun was in her eyes.

Bob cleared his throat and changed the subject. “We are Bob and Leah Garlicbreath,” said Bob. "I'm Bob, this is my sister Leah."

"Garlicbreath," said Justin. "I've never heard a name like that." Evan and Justice both snickered.

Leah forgot what she was doing for a moment and started to say, "What's wrong with Garlicbreath? Where we come from Cooper isn't exactly--"

But just then Bob gave her a look. Leah decided to let it go. "Anyway, yeah, I'm Leah Garlicbreath."

The two new friends laughed again. Evan said, "Garlicbreath? Like garlic that you'd eat?"

Then both their snickering stopped as they tried to remember the last time they had tasted garlic bread, or any kind of bread for that matter. Their stomachs growled.
