Class Descriptions

Acro/Gymnastics

Acrobatic Arts Gymnastics presents a certified dance program focusing on secure and efficient progressions, delivering impressive outcomes across five divisions of Acro Dance: Tumbling, Flexibility, Strength, Balancing, and Limbering. By seamlessly blending these skills with dance, our program offers an enjoyable experience for performers and audience members, showcasing the harmonious fusion of styles.

Ballet

Our Ballet classes focus on developing a solid ballet technique emphasizing correct body placement, proper use of turnout, coordination of the upper body, and use of arms (port de bras). Ballet classes will include work at the barre to build strength and coordination, center exercises, and finishing with combinations or variations.

Hip Hop

Hip hop dance is a range of street dance styles primarily performed to hip hop music or that have evolved as part of hip hop culture. It is influenced by a wide range of styles that were created back in the 70s and made popular by dance crews in the United States. Class will consist of a warm-up, across the floor & choreography.

Tap

An introduction to the basic rhythm, steps, and sequencing with attention to clean technique, this class focuses on musicality, phrasing, and terminology while building strength and having fun.

This class is combined with Jazz for our Summer Session.

Jazz Tech/Lyrical

Jazz dance is a performance dance and style that arose in the United States in the mid-20th century and may allude to jazz on Broadway or dramatic jazz. Classes emphasize musicality and body alignment, conditioning, stretch and strengthening, stylization, rhythm, and picking up choreography.

This class is combined with Tap for our Summer Session.

Strength and Conditioning

A strength training class will help dancers cross train. Including lessons on anatomy, this knowledge will enhance the dancers’ understanding of their bodies; therefore, helping them attain correct alignment and form.

Family Creative Movement

A creative movement class suitable for ages 18 -23 months. Perfect for the child who still needs a little more time before separating from the parent or caregiver. Parents or caregivers participate actively in the class as children learn basic dance steps and terminology through songs, stories, and play. This class will build their self-confidence to help them blossom!
