Board Games
Any board game can be turned into a word game. Chutes and Ladders, Sorry, Trouble, and Candy Land are just a few examples of board games that can be turned into word games using the directions below.
Supplies Needed:
Word cards (create your own or click here.)
Board game of your choice
Directions:
Players complete the following tasks before taking their turn:
Player 1 reads the word (not visible to player 2) while player 2 writes the word
Both players check the spelling together.
If the word is correct, player 2 takes their turn.
If the word is incorrect player 2 rewrites the word correctly. The turn is taken AFTER the word is written correctly. (Alternate play – turn can be skipped for an incorrect answer.)
If when revealing the word, it is noticed the word was read incorrectly, the turn is replayed with a new word.
