Policies and Grading

Mrs. Morgan's Grading System

Note:  All classes are graded using a point system.  You will be responsible for maintaining your own notes and bringing them to class every day.  You will receive formative assessment points by taking many open notes quizzes in class and by participating in class activities.  You will receive summative assessment points by doing lab writeups and taking unit exams.   If you are absent for any reason you will still be responsible for the material covered in class so you should get notes from another student or plan on staying 10th period with Mrs. Morgan.  

10th period Mondays and Tuesdays are reserved for ap students

Wednesdays and Thursdays are reserved for LS Biology students.

It is your responsibility to act appropriately in class so that you can learn and everyone else in class can learn. 

Basic Rules:

1. RESPECT everyone and everything in the classroom 

2. BE SAFE wear safety goggles for all experiments involving chemicals, wash your hands after each lab experience, respect everyone's space and all lab equipment

3. BE PREPARED 

   1. I promise to work hard and properly prepare for each class and expect the same of you. Being prepared means:

      • make sure you have your chromebook, your science notebook, and writing utensils for every class

      • Complete all assignments on time.  Weekly assignments are due each week and are final.  You either worked hard that week and got things done or you didn't.   

4.  BE TRUTHFUL

• • Excuses are not tolerated, be honest with why something didn't get done or why you broke a rule.

5. BE CURIOUS

• • While I know not everyone will share my love for all things science, I want everyone to feel comfortable enough to explore the concepts and ask questions
