Education

  • BS In vitro cell biology from SUNY Plattsburgh

  • BS Environmental Science from SUNY Plattsburgh

  • School for Field Studies Program (bald eagle research in Alaska) from Northeastern University

  • MS in teaching from SUNY Plattsburgh

Prior to teaching I was a research assistant at the Trudeau Institute studying CD8T cells. Since then I participated in NASA’s Astrobiology Summer Science Experience for Teachers program and was a member of the Spaceward Bound Expedition team at the McGill University Arctic Research Station on Axel Heiberg Island in the Canadian Arctic. I participated in Clarkson University's NASA sponsored Climate Change Curriculum Development project, was a member of the Wild Center / Heureka Climate Change Educational Exchange program in Finland and was also a participating teacher/presenter for the Northeast Bioenergy and Bioproducts Educational Program through Cornell University.

I look forward to sharing all of these experiences with my classes this year as we explore astrobiology, bioenergy, and climate related topics within the NYS Living Environment, 8th grade, and APES curricula.

While it is weird to think of your teachers doing anything but teaching, below I've placed a myriad of pictures of my adventures and non-school life to give you a better feel for who I am and what I do outside of school. Feel free to ask me questions about any and all of my adventures!
