At a Glance - Updated Important dates:   2024

Meet schedule is listed below.

Feb 26, 2024 - Monday

Athlete/Parent Meeting. I know how many are connected to sportsYou, who's not, and how many actually read the posts. This meeting is important as there are many that are not signed up and not reading information posted. This is your last chance to receive information from us before it is your responsibility. Due to amount of information we have coming in throughout season, the SY and website are the only 2 places that we respectfully post for all, especially parents so they know what is going on. Don't count on your kids to tell you everything. Even if they intend to, they do forget. Be a part of their excitement and growth.

Meeting: High School Tiered classroom just off of commons towards auditorium. 7 PM. Bring paper if you wish to take notes. Information is all on SY  or website.

March 4, 2024 - Monday

FIRST   DAY   OF    PRACTICE  !!!!! Check out info on registration, physicals, and shoes and make sure these are done and ready to go BEFORE practice. Shop now to find what you need and so sizes are available. Any questions on shoes, please reach out to me!

Stay tuned for early season sport/club meetings during homeroom times. We will discuss sportsYou, fundraising and other important items.

ALL MUST be signed up for sportsYou Track group BEFORE season starts. This is mainly how we will communicate with athletes AND guardians.

Testing will be done 1st day.

Uniforms for Seniors/Juniors will also be done. Potentially Sophomores too since we are not allowed to hand out prior to March 4. Pay attention during practice for details so this all runs smoothly.

UNIFORMS: Will be handed out in groups on Monday, March 4 and Tuesday, March 5. Pictures are Wednesday, March 6!!!  As I receive shipments of my uniforms order in next several weeks (since they didn't arrive on time), I may have kids switch out older jerseys for newer/Varsity style. My main goal is to get everyone in some sort of a uniform for pictures.

Monday, March 4: Seniors 3:45 PM  uniform handout Go to "cage".  Juniors 4:15 PM. Go to "cage". Most likely start Sophomores 5:00. Go to "cage.

Tuesday, March 5:   Freshman 4:45 PM. Go to "cage"

***Wednesday, March 6: Pictures! See info below.

Students will be signing contract for their numbered items. If not returned at end of season, they/you WILL be billed for replacements.

PICTURES:  Wednesday, March 6, 2024. Team track pictures for EVERY athlete will be after school on date assigned. Students are to immediately get dressed, be ready, and wait in field house. Bob, the photographer, and myself will at least be there early.  Stay tuned for more details. We may be able to go outside for pictures. We will be doing large group pictures first to include all coaches/volunteers, then smaller groups, then individuals.

If students have not gotten a uniform, they need to find a coach to get them one right away

Parents, please make sure that your child brings their uniform home, and I would advise that it would be washed. They may be wrinkled and may have a stale smell to them from sitting in storage.

Every athlete is to have an individual picture. They may stand alone, or have some sort of prop with them such as shoes over their shoulder or a baton, may be a pole for pole vaulters, or by hurdle, etc. Throwers could even have a shotput or discus within the picture if they’d like. These are ideas from Bob . If athletes want any props, they are to be getting them immediately themselves, and then get in line.

Group pictures will start immediately after individual pictures. These will consist of group seniors, group females, group males, large group. We have a huge team so please be organized, on time and pay attention.

Please pass this along to your fellow teammates, so that everyone is aware of the communication. There may be several that have been on break between sports, and a few that are just returning from spring break.

Information is typically communicated in several areas or in person; after that, there’s not a lot that I can do.

Where to meet for pictures: meet in field house to receive instructions. Pictures will start with large group first to include coaches/volunteers. We may be doing pictures outside if weather is nice.

How to get your pictures : when all pictures are finalized and edited, Bob will send me a link that I will send to you on sportsYou for your review and any desired purchase of individual and/or group pictures.

Thank you!

March 23 - LUHS hosted Indoor Track/Field Meet.  Let's Go T-birds! More information will come. We will most likely be needing concession help. With enough help, parents can easily go back and forth with helping and watching their children participate in the events that day. With track/field, an exact time is not always predictable. Thank you! Any students that are not cleared for physicals or other issues along with limited event participation may also sign up to hep in between cheering for your teammates! If not enough people signed up for concessions, they may not be offered. *** Solo and Ensemble will be organizing the concession stand but if we have some people/kids help out from track throughout concession time, we can share the profits which would be very nice.  Reach out to Coach Steph Strasburg if you're interested in helping for any time/here and there.

April 30- LUHS hosted outdoor Track/Field Meet. Again, concessions would be nice to have if there is interest in organizing and setting up. Another great way to earn money for our budget that supports in purchasing new equipment, uniforms, etc. Sign-Up Genius can be used again for easy communication and sign up along with "sportsYou".  Anyone interested in doing concessions, please notify a coach, start a Sign-up Genius and send us a link to enter on the website and SY portal.  Any help with this and other concession dates is greatly appreciated. Volunteers can go in and out if concessions is covered to watch their athlete(s). Otherwise, concessions may not be offered.
