Course Overview
OPEN TO: Grade 12 with below B average in previous English Courses
The 12th grade English course is designed to continue the development of English skills necessary for effective communication, with an emphasis on writing for the workplace and exploring literary themes. This course will continue development of vocabulary, writing, and oral communication skills, and appreciation of multicultural literature.
Students will learn about a wide variety of business related writings. They will read novels, plays, poems, short stories, and non- fiction. Students will learn through small groups, essays, projects and teacher-facilitated discussion that apply technology-enhanced instructional strategies.
This course will develop essential reading, writing and critical-thinking skills necessary for high school and college or career readiness.
