Lakeland High School Music Department
"To educate and inspire the musician within each student."
Lakeland’s music department has enjoyed a vibrant program and a tradition of excellence in both band and choir since its inception in 1961. We are committed to providing students with the foundation to express and appreciate music on a deeper level—as performers, listeners, concertgoers, and supporters of the arts.
Our program includes the Wind Symphony, Concert Band, A Cappella Choir "The Hawkapellas", Concert Choir, and Pep Band which is often described as the heartbeat of our school. Our ensembles perform several times a year at school and community events and festivals. Students consistently participate in the Idaho Music Educators Association All-State Honor Band and Choirs, as well as the District 1 Solo and Ensemble Competition.
Performing for our school and community is our top priority. Our music department is about more than rehearsing in the classroom and performing at school concerts. Bringing our art to the community is what musicians do, and it is an essential part of being a musician.
