The Senior Options Program gives students hands-on experience in a career field of interest through an internship and course component. Each student works with the Senior Options Coordinator and a mentor at their placement site to develop skills and explore potential career paths.

How it works:

• Students complete non-paid internships in the community 3–5 days a week.

• Internships align with each student’s career plan developed in the classroom.

• Mentors may create a project tailored to the student or involve them in ongoing professional work.

• Students may collaborate with colleagues or work independently with guidance from their mentor.

Internships can be in any field. The key expectation is that students take an active role in professional activities and apply what they’ve learned to real-world settings.
