Physical P15 Dribble Kick

  1. Gather balls that your child can kick such as a soccer ball or playground ball.

  2. Model how to dribble the ball back and forth with your feet. Describe each step as you demonstrate. This is how we dribble the ball. I’m keeping the ball close to my feet as I tap it forward.

  3. Invite your child to practice dribbling the ball, offering encouragement and reminders as needed. Remember to just kick the ball a little bit each time. Start by walking and dribbling it. Kick, kick, kick. You’re dribbling the ball!

Mathematics M31 Lining It Up

  1. Ask your child to help you gather a collection of objects, such as socks, sticks, or clean recyclables. Demonstrate how to line them up according to size. You might say, If we line them up so they all touch this line on the rug, we can see which is longest.

  2. Invite your child to arrange them in a different way, such as longest to shortest or narrowest to widest.

  3. Encourage your child to explain her arrangements. You might say,You put the tallest bottle in the middle. Can you tell me how you decided where to put the shorter bottles?Invite her to make and describe new arrangements.

Language and Literacy LL03 Alphabet Cards

  1. Create a set of alphabet cards with uppercase letters on the front and lowercase letters on the back of index cards or small pieces of paper.

  2. Invite your child to explore the alphabet cards. Talk about the characteristics of each letter and the sound each letter makes.I see the letter H on this card! It has two straight lines and a line that goes across. This letter makes the /h/ sound. Can you make that sound with me?

  3. Ask your child to find any letters in his name and identify which side of the card has an uppercase or lowercase letter.You have an A on your card. Can you tell me if it’s an uppercase or lowercase letter? That’s right. It’s an uppercase letter.
