Copyright and Course Resources

Copyright Services

The libraries support faculty and students in using resources with copyright law and guidelines. Debra Gold, the Copyright Librarian maintains Copyright Information and Resources as well a course available in MyCourseLink. The Copyright Librarian is available to answer questions about copyright from faculty, students and staff.

Last year we met with new faculty and departments to talk about copyright.

Copyright Guide
Copyright Information & Resources is an important source of information about copyright.

Course Resources

The Libraries use a ticketing system for course resources, copyright, scan and delivery, and course pack requests. For example, Faculty complete the Course Resources Request Form, and depending on the request it gets sent to a lulibrary.mojohelpdesk.com queue. Each request could represent several books, articles or chapters.

Library staff check each request to determine whether the request can be completed:

  • under fair dealing guidelines
  • with existing licenses
  • requiring copyright clearance or permission from the copyright holder.
