A Little About Ms. Rogers

Hi My Sleuths (Detectives),

I am Ms. Rogers your Awesome 5th grade Social Studies teacher. I am very excited to meet all of you and am looking forward to this school year. Now, I'll let you a little about myself. I went to Lake Forest Montessori for elementary school, next I attended St. Mary's Academy and went off to college at Dillard University. I will tell you I enjoyed every aspect of school and really miss it on some days.

I've been working at Lake Forest Charter (My Alma Mater) for a while now and I truly love it. It's like a family here at LFC and that makes me feel so very lucky to be apart of this school. I adore all the students at LFC and treat them as my own. I became a teacher because growing up I always admired the dedication, love, care, and joy my teachers had when they entered the classroom no matter what grade I was in every morning. Each teacher would act as if I and each one of my classmates was his/her child. When they taught it was with such joy and enthusiasm that we had no choice but to pay attention and want to learn more. As a child witnessing these things I thought being a teacher was such a wonderful and special career. It took a special person to be able to fulfill these shoes. As I grew older I realized that I wanted to fulfill those shows of the teachers I once admired. And, with the world we live in today I believe students need that extra love, care, and encouragement to succeed and to make them want to learn and be their best. I believe that educating our children should be a top priority but I also believe students need to feel that dedication, love, care, and joy from their teachers while learning.

I am truly enjoying being a teacher and I hope and pray that I am making a difference in my students lives just as much as my teachers did for me. Well, that's a little about me. Now, I can't wait to learn about all of you!
