Meet Naomi, she loves writing and is always up for a challenge. As editor in chief of the Blue Jay Journal she makes sure the journalist provide top notch writing and presentation. Out side of the News paper staff Naomi loves, movies, journaling, and going to the beach! Overall Naomi is always looking for new stories to write and new books to read!
Meet Kelly, Associate Editor of the Blue Jay Journal. As one of the editors, she helps edit her team's writing, and takes charge with other editors in a meeting. She believes that if our team works together we will be a dream team, and bring the best newspaper to you. Other than the love for writing she has the love for dancing. She has been a competitive dancer her whole life. If she's not writing she's probably dancing, sleeping, or eating.
Meet Damien, the creative artist at the heart of the newsroom. As the Editorial Cartoonists, he looks over all the art and stories for the comic strips, making sure it is readable and enjoyable. Beyond the comic strips, Damien J Gagnon is the office’s resident artist and movie culture geek, making every break into a creative dream.
Meet Karen she is our Layout editor, her job is to make sure everything in the newspaper flows together and looks good. Beyond the templates Karen enjoys learning about history while building legos, her favorite sets include “The starry night”, “Flower bouquet” and “Coloseum”. She also has a penchant for strawberries and anything alike. Karen has a Knack for reading books similar to and those by Holly Jackson.

Introducing Madison, a writer on the Blue Jay Journal. As a writer, she brings many unique perspectives to the newspaper when writing to ensure you enjoy every word. With a quiet yet humorous personality, she strives to connect with readers and bring an additional flare to every piece. When she'sshes out of the classroom, you can find her diving into a new true crime show or listening to the newest hits. Even if she’s talking with friends, doing homework, or even just relaxing, she'sshes always thinking of new ideas to keep readers entertained.
Janessa is one of the reporters for the Blue Jay Journal. Some of the things Janessa likes to do outside of school are watching shows and movies, reading, and playing with her dog. Janessa chose to be a part of the Blue Jay Journal because she has always favored the class Language Arts because of the opportunities to write. Janessa often enjoys writing argumentative essays as she can prove why her side of the argument is correct. Janessa is involved in her school as she participates in cheerleading, blue jay support, and National Junior Honor Society.
Say hello to Sophia, a writer and reporter from Ms. Oteros 8th grade journalism class. She's smart and can make a full fledged review with just a few words or pictures. She writes about big events in both real life and school life such as Literacy night by attending or overseeing the events, then reports to the blue jay news for others to read and enjoy. She likes keeping things fun and interesting, the last thing she wants to be is boring. She's also on the girls basketball team, number 22. She's a great leader and can help anyone when it's needed.
Jaiden is a student at Lake Pointe Academy who loves football, basketball, and video games. Jaiden is a great role model, but also is very crazy to sometimes. Almost all the kids at LPA know him and love how jolly he always is. You may catch him on the morning news, the LPA football team, concessions stands or helping out in the band room. He’s just everywhere! He does all this and still is a great writer for the team and he comes and bring laughs, due to his humorous and energetic personality.
Meet samuel, he loves being part of this team it really has made this year better, But that isn't the only thing he is interested in, He have lots of hobbies including skateboarding, playing video games, cooking, running and working out. He believes his athletics and health is important not only morally but physically because it applies discipline to your life.
Meet Manuela, One of our staff writers here in the journalism team. Manuela is one of the people in charge of writing and organizing the stories we chose to put out in the Newspaper. But aside from that, Manuela is a LPA student, who is currently an 8th grader who moved 2 years ago from Brazil. She is a nice, kind and listening person. She will try her best to use her creativity and skills to create the most awesome stories for you guys.
Meet Camilo - a dedicated member of the Blue Jay Journal. Two of his favorite hobbies are reading and playing video games(platformers, racing, etc). He has a good sense of humor, and can be very curious about the world. His favorite books are the Diary of Wimpy Kid Series.
Meet Savannah, one of our dedicated team members. She is artistic, creative, and full of energy, which is what makes Savannah, Savannah! She mostly works on artistic endeavors. Savannah enjoys art a lot, and hopes everyone that reads the Blue Jay Journal enjoys it as much as she does!
Meet Isaiah, He is passionate about being a journalist and hopes this will one day be his profession. Florida born and Raised this Italian- Puerto Rican is 14 years old and loves writing, movies and games. He has 5 brothers 4 of them are over the age of 20. He also holds down a job at his brothers restaurant: Black Bear in Clermont, FL.
Meet Adriannah, she is the reporter of all our hearts. Beyond the reporting, she enjoys playing basketball with her older brother, as well as writing her own original songs about her experiences and her life. Also you’ll never see her miss a day of duolingo, No matter what she never fails to do whatever it is she puts her mind to, whether it’s learning another language or just her homework; she gets it done.
Meet Emmalyn, the loving and caring spirit in the newsroom. As a news reporter, she writes about what she is assigned to do and she loves it no matter what it is. She loves to write letters to her friends about how much she cares about them. She also loves sharks. Her favorite superhero is Spiderman because she grew up with all the movies.
Meet Alana, a journalist for the Blue Jay journal. As a writer she focuses on every perspective to truly capture the complexity of a situation. Alana is an outgoing popstar and with her bubbly, loud personality she can interview just about anyone with a bright smile. Alana plays soccer and is in the news crew for Lake Pointe Academy and is always ready to help.
Meet Ms. Otero, the spirited storyteller at the heart of our newsroom. As the Staff Advisor, she oversees the craft of each article, ensuring you're not just reading the news but experiencing it. Beyond the headlines, Ms. Otero is the office's resident Bookworm and puzzle enthusiast, turning every break into a mini adventure. She just makes sure to add a sprinkle of magic to our pages.
