VPK (Volunteer Pre- Kindergarten)
Lake County Schools is proud to offer at least one VPK class with a state certified teacher on every elementary school campus. Every four year old child receives a "Certificate of Eligibility" or a "Voucher" that gives them 540 hours of instructional time in a school based setting. Apple Mart
Apple-Mart is a store created for Lake County Schools by the Education Foundation of Lake County where teachers shop for free. Each year, new teachers in the district receive a shopping pass allowing them to shop once a month. Passes are also given to principals to distribute among their teachers. The average value of each visit ranges between $95 and $150. The stores are run by volunteers and stocked by donations from the community.

Certification
In-State Certification
When coming to Lake County Schools, you will need to have your professional development points transferred to the Professional Learning Department. Points will only be accepted from other public school districts in the State of Florida. No out of state points will be accepted.
Out-Of-State Certification
Florida participates in reciprocity with all states. it is better to apply for reciprocity early as it can take up to 8 weeks or more for them to complete evaluation. Visit the Florida Department of Education's website for information to complete all the necessary steps.

Certification Studying Resources
240Tutoring is a resource we have found to assist in Exams. To use the Lake County Schools discount, you must email certification@lake.k12.fl.us. They will then send an invite. Please look for an email from 'invites@240tutoring', this may be in your junk/spam folder.
Another resource that is available is practice tests and test blue print to see what sections are weighted the highest. Use your practice test to see what sections you should focus on studying.
