Lake County Schools is the 18th largest public school district in the state of Florida serving approximately 47,000 students and 6,000 employees at more than 50 learning sites. Our mission is to provide every student with individual opportunities to excel. We aim to be a dynamic, progressive, and collaborative learning community where every student will graduate with the skills needed to succeed in post-secondary education and the workplace.
We have so much to be proud of here in Lake County Schools. We are part of a community that cares about and supports its children. With dedicated teachers, staff and administrators, coupled with strong parent engagement and the support of community businesses and organizations, our students have everything they need to excel.
I am very proud of our district. I celebrate what our students and staff have accomplished so far, and I look forward to working with teachers and administrators to provide more opportunities for our students to get excited about learning and to prepare them for college and careers once they leave our schools. It is my pleasure to welcome you to Lake County Schools!

Home to over 1,000 pristine lakes, springs, and rivers, it is clear how Lake County got its name. The landscape and terrain comprised of rolling hills and stunning vistas culminates in the highest point in peninsular Florida, Sugarloaf Mountain.
Throughout the county, there are acres of preserves, state parks and a national forest full of plants and wildlife attracting hikers and ecotourists to these protected and undisturbed lands. Our waterfront parks situated beneath a canopy of Oak trees make for a great spot for an afternoon picnic or as a stop while exploring one of the area's many trails.
