Hello and welcome to the Lake Mills Bands page! I am the band director at Lake Mills. I graduated from New Hampton High School, and received my bachelor of music education degree from Wartburg College. Here in Lake Mills, I conduct the 6th grade band, 7th and 8th grade band, and the high school marching, concert, jazz and pep bands.

Being in music has allowed me many incredible opportunities, from playing in the Iowa All-State Band three times, traveling all over the country to perform, and even visiting and performing concerts in Japan with my college ensemble.

To be a musician is to be dedicated, determined, and disciplined. Musicians learn and develop many more skills than simply how to play their instrument. Music allows us to communicate and collaborate, develop patience and creativity, and persevere through obstacles. Without music, I would not be the person I am today. My music teachers have been some of the most impactful people in my life, so I thank you for the opportunity to teach your students with music!

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my parents, siblings and their spouses, and my nieces and nephew. I enjoy traveling, and my favorite states to visit are Colorado and Florida. I have also toured England and Japan, and hope to visit more of Europe in the future. I play with the Waldorf Wind Symphony and the Mason City Municipal Band. I also enjoy reading, hiking, cooking, and attending plays and musicals.
