Thank you for your interest in volunteering in the library this school year! Volunteering in the library primarily consists of shelving library books that have been returned by students. We rely on our parent volunteers to help keep our library looking beautiful and organized all school year so we truly appreciate each and every one of you!
Due to high interest in volunteering in the library, we ask that you be mindful of other parents when signing up for slots; please try to limit your sign-ups to one slot per family per month. This year, we have back to back classes coming into the library so please also make sure to leave when your child's class leaves, as we anticipate having back to back volunteers as well.
If you have never volunteered in the BVE library before, please spend a few minutes familiarizing yourself with the library map and shelving guide found under our "Procedures" tab. If you have any questions about shelving or library volunteering in general, feel free to send us an email! You can reach Mrs. Greene at cgreene@lafsd.org or Mrs. Kim at skim@lafsd.org.
And lastly, as a reminder, LAFSD has implemented new volunteer requirements:
Create a Be a Mentor account
Upload a driver's license/other valid state ID
Upload TB clearance form
And complete LiveScan fingerprinting
These requirements must be met before any volunteer will be allowed on campus. Please make sure to begin these steps ASAP if you haven't done so already as they can sometimes take a few weeks to clear on your account. On your volunteer day, make sure to bring your ID and check-in at the office before heading to the library.
THANK YOU and see you all soon!
