Welcome to the BVE Library's Volunteer and Community Website!

Thank you for being so interested in volunteering in the Burton Valley Elementary Library! We are so lucky to have such a wonderful community of parent volunteers. 💙

Our library volunteers primarily help shelve books that have been returned by students, helping us keep our library organized, welcoming, and ready for our next readers. Your time makes a BIG difference, and we truly appreciate every minute you spend helping our library!

🐾 A Few Volunteer Reminders

Because we have lots of parents interested in volunteering, we ask everyone to be mindful of other families when signing up.

We have back-to-back library classes throughout the school day, so please plan to leave when your child's class leaves. This helps us make room for the next group of volunteers.

✅ Before You Volunteer

LAFSD has implemented volunteer requirements that must be completed before you can volunteer on campus:

Create a Be a Mentor account
Upload a driver's license or other valid state ID
Upload your TB clearance form
Complete LiveScan fingerprinting

Please get started ASAP if you haven't completed these steps yet. Some requirements can take a few weeks to clear in your account.
