Mental Wellness Resources

While we are always here to help, we are slower to respond over the summer. Please reach out to us if you need us, but while you wait to hear back, check out the resources below to take care of yourself (or to help your child).

Crisis Call & Text Lines

These call and text lines can be used for immediate crisis, but are also helpful any time you or your student needs to talk through a problem. They are staffed 24/7 by individuals who are trained to listen and help. We've had a lot of good feedback on the text lines, specifically.

The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is a national network of local crisis centers that provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the United States.
Now, you can call or text 988 for quicker access to help!

Local Mental Health Resources

The link below brings you to a list of community resources that the Counseling Office has compiled for your convenience. If you have questions about which agency might work best for your particular needs, feel free to contact us!

211CNY is a frequently updated database that connects individuals and families to a variety of services, including mental health. You can dial 211 and speak to a real person, or click the link below to use the website. If you are seeking mental health support for your child, click on "Mental Health" and then "Youth Counseling." From there, you can filter by distance to an area code, and click on individual results to see more information about insurance and specialty areas.

ACCESS is the "Single Point of Entry" (or SPOA) for Onondaga County Youth. By calling (315) 463-1100, you'll be put in contact with a Liaison who can assess the situation and make a referral to the appropriate agency or system to support a variety of needs and concerns. This call must be completed by a parent, but your School Counselor can also make a referral if preferred.

Liberty Resources Mobile Crisis Unit

If you are in need of immediate crisis support, Liberty Resources has a mobile crisis unit that will respond to crisis, over the phone or in person, to provide mental health engagement, intervention, and follow up support.
