Mrs. Lockwood

I graduated from Cazenovia High School. I earned my bachelors and masters degree at SUNY Fredonia. I taught in the Syracuse City School District for 7 years prior to coming to LaFayette in 2015. Outside of teaching math, I am also the advisor of the Jr. High Math League and I coach Modified Girls Basketball. I enjoy playing golf, camping, and spending time with my family.

Ms. Courtwright

I am a graduate of Tully high school. I moved on to get my bachelors degree at Potsdam and my masters degree from SUNY Cortland. This will be my 31st year in the district and I am excited to be back on the 8th grade team. While I may be the oldest running member of our team, I am definitely the most fun.

Mr. Fox

Mr. Fox, a proud Le Moyne College grad, has been rocking it at LaFayette since 1999. These days, you’ll find him working with the awesome 7th and 8th grade teams. U.S. History is his jam, but he’s also tackled classes like Economics, Government, Psychology (high school and college style!), Sociology, and Public Speaking. Stop by his room anytime to geek out about Xbox, cheer (or commiserate) over Syracuse sports or the Yankees, or swap stories about the legendary LaFayette Rock Fest.

P.S. He is also the Varsity Tennis coach so if you have a secret love or talent for the sport this is the guy to talk to.

I am originally from Maryland, but attended Syracuse University for both my bachelor's and master's degrees. I teach seventh grade and eighth grade. This will be my third year teaching at LaFayette. I enjoy playing softball, volleyball, and going to trivia. I am also the modified softball coach!

Ms. Marino

I grew up in the Syracuse area and completed my education at OCC and SUNY Cortland. I worked in several local schools before joining the Lafayette community, and I have taught English at every grade level from 7-12. I am passionate about English and literacy, and reading is my favorite pastime. When I am not curled up with a good book, I am spending time with my family and my pets. I also love traveling, gardening, cooking, sporting events and going to concerts.

Ms. Edwards

My personal educational career path took me from a student at LaFayette, to a graduate of SUNY Cortland and back to LaFayette as a teacher in 2012. In my past 11 years I have become involved in numerous student led organizations, and I am currently co-advisor of the Lancer Yearbook, co-advisor of the Junior Class and advisor of the Senior High National Honor Society. I have two high energy boys at home who keep me on my toes. I enjoy going for walks, spending time with family and friends, and reading.

Special Education

Ms. Clemens

I graduated from LaFayette High School and received my undergraduate degree from SUNY Cortland. After my husband and I started a family with three kids, I began subbing in the district and pursued my masters in teaching at LeMoyne College. In 2011 I was a Teaching Assistant in the district and in 2014 started as a special education teacher at the Onondaga Nation School, where I've been up until last year, when I moved up to the high school. My husband and two sons are LaFayette graduates and my daughter is in the class of 2025. I love to be outside, go walking, camping, and spend time with my family.

Ms. Sopchak
(Class Advisor)

I graduated from Ciero-North Syracuse High School and then on to LeMoyne where I pursued my teaching degree. I have been working in the district since 2013 where I started working at ONS before moving up to the jr/sr high. This year I am teaching 7th and 8th grade special education where you may see me working in your ELA or math classes providing help as needed. Also, I am the advisor for 7th and 8th grade Senate so if you have any fundraising ideas or would like to help out, let me know. I have one daughter and we love to be outdoors going for walks, swimming, and playing disc golf!
