Wifi - All students should be on the LCSD wireless network for their iPad to operate properly while at school. Avoid using any other network while at school - this will cause your iPad functions to be limited.
Naming your iPad - Under Settings, General, Click ABOUT then NAME
Your iPad Name should be your first and last name or initial only.
Date and Time - Under Settings, General, Date and Time (about half way down the screen) should be “Set Automatically.”
Display & Brightness - Settings, Display and Brightness
Modify the brightness with the sliding scale at the top. Less bright uses less battery, but can strain your eyes. We recommend turning on auto brightness. If you like the warmer light from Night Shift, you can set that to turn on at certain times, or be on all the time (if you set from 3 PM- 2:59 PM)
Passcode - Settings, Touch ID & Passcode e. Do not set a passcode on your iPad.
Privacy - Settings, Privacy
If something does not connect (for example if an app can- not use your photos) go into privacy and turn it on.
Battery
You should come with your iPad charged and ready to use for the school day.
Moysle- Only approved La Crosse School District apps available for download
You will be instructed which apps to download. Don't download numerous apps at once. This could "bog down" the system.
Click on Moysle (use the Spotlight Search if you have a lot of pages)
Use the search box in the upper right hand corner if you know the name of the app you are looking for OR scroll through the list of available apps
Click on the Install box to download the app
If you have school approved apps that require you to set up an account, please use your district email and password to make it easy to remember. I.E.- Google Classroom, Showbie
Deleting, arranging and organizing apps
Press and hold the app icon until it shakes. Press the x in the top right hand corner of the app and chose delete.
You may want to put your apps together in a folder to make it easier to organize your apps. Please remember you cannot put a folder inside another folder.
To create a folder, you hold the app down until it jiggles. Slide one on top of the other. A folder pops up and Apple generates a folder name. You can keep this name or change it. To change it just tap the x to erase the name and type in what you want. Tap the home button to stop the wiggles.
To remove an app from the folder, tap on the folder, hold the the app down again until it wiggles, and just drag it back to the desktop. If you remove all the apps from the folder, the folder will automatically delete.
If there are certain items you know you will use a lot, you could move them down to your dock. You could move settings down or even folders. We suggest moving your mail icon to the dock as you may be using this a lot.
