ClassLink is a digital platform designed for schools to simplify access to learning resources and manage technology. It provides single sign-on (SSO) for students and staff, enabling them to access all their school apps and files from one place with a single login. ClassLink also offers tools for managing user accounts, rostering, and analyzing edtech usage.
Mosyle is a platform focused on managing and securing Apple devices for both education and business environments. It offers solutions for device management, security, and automation, particularly for macOS, iOS, and iPadOS. Mosyle helps streamline tasks like deployment, application management, and enforcing security policies, making it easier for IT teams to manage Apple devices.
The Control Center on iPad gives you instant access to useful controls (volume, brightness, screen mirroring and screen recording). You can swipe down from the top-right edge to open Control Center; to close it, swipe up from the bottom. You may add items to your control center by going to Settings, Customize Controls, and then select plus or minus to add the additional features you like.
To access your home screen swipe up from the dock of the iPad.
The lock screen is the screen that appears when first wake your iPad up. The image on your Lock Screen should be a photograph of you. When you swipe past the lock screen, you reveal the HOME screen, which shows all your apps and links on your device.
The power button is the longer button on the top side of the iPad.
Turn on iPad by pressing and holding the power button until Apple icon appears.
Push power button once to put iPad to sleep then touch power or tap Home button again to wake up.
Hold down power button and see the "Slide to power off" option This will actually turn off the iPad, which is different than sleep.
Notifications appear when you take one finger and grab the very top of your screen and pull down. If you have notifications on, they will appear here. Please limit your notifications to only Mail, Calendar, and apps like Google Classroom, Showbie and iTunesU, for best use of the iPad. Too many notifications will slow down your iPad. You may turn off notifications for things in Settings.
This is a multitasking tool that lows you to open more than one app at a time.
When in an app you can use your fingertip and touch the right side of the screen and pull to the left. This will open up a display of app choices that can be used in split screen, scroll up or down to see them all. Choose one and it will open. Depending what app you were originally in, you may be able to use the bar at the center to change how the size of the screens. One more screen feature you can use to increase your productivity is the split or slide over screen. When in an app, you can use your fingertip and touch the bottom of the screen to pull up the dock. Apps from the dock, including your recently used apps, can be tapped and dragged up and over the screen to make it slide over. This will not work with all apps. Depending on what app you were originally in, you may be able to use the bar at the center to change how split your screen is.
This enables to you to search the apps and web-links on your device. Take one finger and swipe down on the CENTER of your screen. Type in the search bar what you are looking for. The iPad will predict what you are looking for and it will bring up a list of options as well as the folder they may be contained in.

From your main home screen, use one finger to swipe from the left side of the screen to the right. Today View can be customized to your liking. Scroll to the bottom choose the edit button. Click on that to manage your widgets. You can move them around by touching the three lines to the right, or you can remove them with the plus and minus button.
Wifi - All students should be on the LCSD wireless network for their iPad to operate properly while at school. Avoid using any other network while at school - this will cause your iPad functions to be limited.
Naming your iPad - Under Settings, General, Click ABOUT then NAME
Your iPad Name should be your first and last name or initial only.
Date and Time - Under Settings, General, Date and Time (about half way down the screen) should be “Set Automatically.”
Display & Brightness - Settings, Display and Brightness
Modify the brightness with the sliding scale at the top. Less bright uses less battery, but can strain your eyes. We recommend turning on auto brightness. If you like the warmer light from Night Shift, you can set that to turn on at certain times, or be on all the time (if you set from 3 PM- 2:59 PM)
Passcode - Settings, Touch ID & Passcode e. Do not set a passcode on your iPad.
Privacy - Settings, Privacy
If something does not connect (for example if an app can- not use your photos) go into privacy and turn it on.
Battery
You should come with your iPad charged and ready to use for the school day.
Moysle- Only approved La Crosse School District apps available for download
You will be instructed which apps to download. Don't download numerous apps at once. This could "bog down" the system.
Click on Moysle (use the Spotlight Search if you have a lot of pages)
Use the search box in the upper right hand corner if you know the name of the app you are looking for OR scroll through the list of available apps
Click on the Install box to download the app
If you have school approved apps that require you to set up an account, please use your district email and password to make it easy to remember. I.E.- Google Classroom, Showbie
Deleting, arranging and organizing apps
Press and hold the app icon until it shakes. Press the x in the top right hand corner of the app and chose delete.
You may want to put your apps together in a folder to make it easier to organize your apps. Please remember you cannot put a folder inside another folder.
To create a folder, you hold the app down until it jiggles. Slide one on top of the other. A folder pops up and Apple generates a folder name. You can keep this name or change it. To change it just tap the x to erase the name and type in what you want. Tap the home button to stop the wiggles.
To remove an app from the folder, tap on the folder, hold the the app down again until it wiggles, and just drag it back to the desktop. If you remove all the apps from the folder, the folder will automatically delete.
If there are certain items you know you will use a lot, you could move them down to your dock. You could move settings down or even folders. We suggest moving your mail icon to the dock as you may be using this a lot.
