DANI NALANGAN
MEET DANI, one of the two Project Managers / Event Curators for the inaugural 818 CREATES: Young Creatives Festival.

Born and raised in Santa Clarita, CA, Dani has been embraced by the rich jazz scene here in Northridge. When she’s not flexing her ProCreate skills, you can find her harnessing her songwriting pen, chilling at Game n’ Grounds, or jamming with her friends at a house show at CSUN.

Why is she excited for 818 CREATES? She says: “The best musicians and artists I know live in the San Fernando Valley! The creative community here is nurturing and vibrant, and having spaces to call our own right here in our neighborhoods is so incredibly vital. 818 CREATES was born from that intention, and we’re excited to welcome one and all to share their gifts in community at Taxco Theatre!”

KIYAN ATRIAN

MEET KIYAN, one of the two Project Managers / Event Curators for the inaugural 818 CREATES: Young Creatives Festival.

Born and raised in Reseda, CA, Kiyan has been immersed in the art scene of the San Fernando Valley for his whole life. When he’s not writing about his favorite albums of each given year, you can find him tending to his gardens, playing with his cats, finessing thrifted hauls on Super Thrift’s discounted days, or lazing around Lake Balboa.

Why is he excited for 818 CREATES? He says: “As someone nurtured by the arts in the Valley my whole life, I resent the narrative that most creative opportunities are found over the hill. With 818 CREATES, I’m excited to see the ways that the Valley arts scene has continued to shape the creative landscape here and give it a spotlight in our week of programming!”
