Located in the historic city of Coimbra, Agrupamento de Escolas Rainha Santa Isabel is a vibrant and inclusive educational group that brings together 14 organizational units, including EB Rainha Santa Isabel (the headquarters), primary schools, and kindergartens.

Today, the group serves around 1,350 students across different educational levels: pre-school, 1st cycle, 2nd cycle, and 3rd cycle.

Committed to promoting success for every student, the school group places a strong focus on cultural, social, and educational development. Approximately 49% of students benefit from School Social Action support, reflecting the complex socio-economic context of the community it serves.

Since the 2009/10 academic year, Agrupamento de Escolas Rainha Santa Isabel has been recognized as an Educational Territory for Priority Intervention (TEIP), and since 2012/13, it has operated under an Autonomy Contract. These designations have empowered the school to foster dynamic partnerships with local organizations such as the Rotary Club, Soltar Senses Association, Diocesan Caritas, the University of Coimbra, Instituto Superior Miguel Torga, local health centers, and the Escolhas Programme.

Located in the dynamic district of Yenişehir, the Yenişehir District Directorate of National Education has been shaping the educational landscape since its official establishment in 2008.

Today, it oversees a diverse network of 80 public schools and institutions, 101 private schools, and 11 Special Education and Rehabilitation Centers, serving a total of 56,393 students aged 3 to 18.

The directorate manages a wide range of educational institutions, including Social Sciences High Schools, Science High Schools, Anatolian High Schools, Vocational and Technical Anatolian High Schools, Religious Vocational High Schools, primary schools, kindergartens, special education schools, and a Science and Art Center for gifted students. It also supports lifelong learning initiatives through its Public Education Center and the Guidance Research Center.

At the heart of the Directorate’s vision lies a strong commitment to inclusive, high-quality education that prepares every student for a sustainable and interconnected world. The district proudly embraces diversity: around 30% of its students come from foreign backgrounds, and special education services are provided to students with various needs.

Sustainability and environmental stewardship are central to the district’s educational mission.

Currently, 120 schools within the district have achieved Eco-School certification, with five of them proudly holding Green Flag Forest School status. The Directorate is also establishing an Ecological Life Village Education Center, designed to promote ecological literacy, sustainable living, and conservation awareness among students and teachers.

In cooperation with universities, the district organizes regular training sessions and seminars to support the responsible management of natural resources and to foster sustainable practices in school communities.

The Directorate has also demonstrated strong leadership in innovation and international collaboration. Since the establishment of its Project Coordination Unit in 2013, it has successfully carried out numerous national and Erasmus+ projects, including KA101, KA201, KA226, and KA227. Its expertise spans areas such as inclusive education, digital learning approaches, and sustainable development.

Through Erasmus+, the Directorate empowers all its schools to innovate and improve teaching strategies. Special emphasis is placed on fostering inclusive education environments where no student is left behind, especially through initiatives that combine digital tools with new pedagogical approaches.

Driven by 2,427 dedicated teachers across 192 schools, Yenişehir District Directorate of National Education is deeply committed to raising globally minded citizens who respect and protect the planet’s resources.
