This STEM-focused guide was created by teachers for teachers and students as part of the Erasmus+ project “Back to the Future with Nature”. This educational material connects science, technology, engineering, and mathematics with environmental education. It offers ready-to-use activities that foster ecological thinking through real-world challenges. Topics include waste reduction, composting, water filtration, sustainable food, clean energy, eco-friendly fashion, digital consumption, and green careers. Each activity is aligned with relevant SDGs and includes clear instructions, materials lists, reflection questions, and optional extensions. The guide promotes teamwork, project-based learning, and creative problem-solving. It can be used flexibly in science lessons, eco clubs, theme days, or interdisciplinary projects.
Educational brochure: “Eco Checklist” developed within the Erasmus+ project “Back to the Future with Nature”. This checklist was created for the project and also supports Global Action Days, while being suitable for everyday use. It encourages both students and adults to develop sustainable habits through small, meaningful actions, such as saving energy, reducing waste, choosing local food, or joining clean-up efforts. The brochure promotes eco-friendly living and daily engagement with environmental values.
Educational Brochure: “Forests & Afforestation” prepared as part of the Erasmus+ project “Back to the Future with Nature”. This brochure introduces the role of afforestation in Estonia, Portugal, and Turkey, emphasizing its impact on biodiversity, carbon sequestration, soil and water protection, and local economies. It outlines regional climate conditions, suitable native tree species, and best practices for sustainable afforestation.
Educational brochures: “Carbon Footprint” & “CO₂” developed within the Erasmus+ project “Back to the Future with Nature”. These brochures explain the concept of a carbon footprint and how daily habits, from food and fashion to travel and digital use, impact CO₂ emissions. They provide clear examples, country comparisons (Estonia, Portugal, Turkey), and practical tips for reducing individual footprint. The materials promote climate awareness and support sustainability education, encouraging responsible choices.
In addition, students involved in the project created a digital book exploring climate change, CO₂ emissions, and personal responsibility. These creative works highlight their understanding of the topic and demonstrate active engagement with environmental issues.

Educational brochure: “Water Footprint”
Created as part of the Erasmus+ project “Back to the Future with Nature”. This brochure explains the concept of a water footprint — the hidden water used to produce food, clothing, and consumer goods. It introduces the three types of water (blue, green, and grey), presents real-life examples, and compares national water footprints in Estonia, Portugal, and Turkey. Its main goal is to raise awareness and encourage responsible choices. Designed for students and families, it supports lessons in science, geography, and sustainability education.
Educational brochure: “SPEND LESS - SAVE MORE” created by teachers for teachers and students as part of the Erasmus+ project “Back to the Future with Nature”. This brochure provides simple, practical energy-saving tips for everyday life at school, at home, and in the office. It promotes responsible habits related to computer and device use, temperature control, lighting, and household appliances. It also encourages sustainable daily routines such as washing with cold water, using eco modes, and unplugging devices when not in use. Designed for students, teachers, and families, the brochure emphasizes teamwork and personal responsibility in energy conservation. With clear visuals and the message “Spend less – save more”, it serves as an effective tool for raising awareness, supporting eco-initiatives, and promoting sustainable behavior throughout the school community.
Educational guide: “Creating a School Garden”. This practical guide, developed within the Erasmus+ project “Back to the Future with Nature”, helps schools create and utilize school gardens as a learning space to promote sustainability, teamwork, and hands-on environmental education. It offers step-by-step instructions — from planning and planting to maintenance, with region-specific tips for Estonia, Portugal, and Turkey. The manual includes student activity sheets, eco-friendly practices (e.g. composting, rainwater use), and safety guidelines. It supports cross-curricular learning and directly links to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), making nature an integral part of daily teaching.
Educational material: “Sustainable Development Goals – Actions for the Classroom”
developed within the Erasmus+ project “Back to the Future with Nature”.
This practical guide supports teachers in integrating the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into daily lessons through creative, hands-on activities. It offers adaptable ideas for various age groups and subjects — from school gardening and zero-waste challenges to debates on renewable energy and biodiversity observation.
The material promotes critical thinking, environmental awareness, and active citizenship. It encourages students to connect local actions with global challenges, empowering them to make a real difference in their communities and beyond.
Educational guide: “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” created by teachers for teachers and students as part of the Erasmus+ project “Back to the Future with Nature.” This practical manual supports environmental education through creative, inquiry-based learning focused on pollution and waste sorting. It aims to foster student awareness and responsibility through real-life, hands-on activities. It includes ready-to-use worksheets that teachers can easily integrate into their curriculum, as well as STEM-based activities suitable for both classroom and home environments. The guide also encourages active student engagement and creativity throughout the learning process.
To actively involve students in sustainability learning, an interactive bingo game was created as part of the Erasmus+ project “Back to the Future with Nature.”
