Kevin Schouten is the Technology Integration Specialist at Lincoln Elementary School District 156 in Calumet City, IL. Kevin loves working with both students and teachers and believes strongly in offering the best-available edtech tools and instilling educators with the confidence needed to harness those tools’ full potential.
Over his nearly three decades in the education field as an assistant principal, adjunct professor at Olivet Nazarene University, middle school Language Arts teacher, and instructional technology specialist, Kevin has earned a variety of specialized credentials and certifications that support his ability to find edtech solutions that meet contemporary curricular goals. Kevin is also a proud graduate of Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL (BA in English Language Arts Education) and Aurora University in Aurora, IL (Masters in Educational Leadership and Administration).
Kevin has a passion for allowing students to share their voices and create content through technology. Kevin is the author of a curriculum called “LASST.” LASST is designed as a sister curriculum to STEM, combining Language Arts, Social Sciences, and Technology. He works with students and teachers on content creation as well as examining the sociological effects of technology on our society.
