Goals: My goal for each student is to walk away from this P.E. curriculum with a better idea of why it is so important for us to be physically active, as well as how they can improve their physical fitness on their own outside of class and live a life long healthy lifestyle.
Curriculum: Students at all grade levels will be introduced to or asked to...
Assessment: Each student in grades 1-8 will take part in state fitness testing encompassing the four components of physical fitness ( cardiovascular endurance, muscular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility). Grading will be recorded through student dress (uniform, grades 6-8), class participation (grades 1-8), and written assessment at the end of each unit ( grades 1-8 ).
Class Behavior Guidelines: To maintain a safe productive learning environment, P.E. guidelines have been established and reviewed in each class. Each child is expected to follow class guidelines so class time can be used for learning. Parents will be notified when their child has chronically disrupted the learning environment.
Incentives: I will use Tiger Paws and other rewards for students in all grades to help promote good behavior. This will encourage correct behavior in art class and help promote a great learning and fun environment.
