Full-time Salary: $46,000-$61,000 based on experience and set rubric of criteria
Reports to: Director of Programs
Summary of Position
Reporting to the Director of Programs, the Adult & Family Programs Manager will lead the BLC’s efforts and initiatives around Adult Education, parent support, early childhood, and parent & child together (PACT) time. As the lead of the adult and family programs teams, they will also support other BLC programs and services teams to accomplish other initiatives involving wrap-around services and special events for BLC families.

The Backside Learning Center (BLC) is an independent, non-profit organization providing support and resources in a warm, welcoming environment to the diverse community of racetrack workers and their families. We are a non-traditional workplace, located in the heart of the backside, amongst the stables of Churchill Downs racetrack. The TEACH Fellowship was launched in Taiwan in 2023 by the Association of International Cultural and Educational Exchange Taiwan (AICEE). TEACH Fellowship invites enthusiastic teachers to teach in K-12 schools in Taiwan to create an immersed bilingual and cultural learning environment for Taiwanese students and to enhance cultural and educational exchanges between Taiwan and the world. Teachers from the following countries are eligible: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand.
The program objectives are to:
Create an English language and cultural environment to enhance English listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills of elementary and secondary students in Taiwan.
Develop innovative English language curriculum and effective teaching methods through collaboration between native English speaking and Taiwanese educators.
Promote cross-cultural exchange and mutual understanding while enhancing multicultural competency of teachers and local residents.
