Niranjan Chaudhary

Niranjan Chaudhary, a local victim leader in Barbardiya, has served as the president of his ward and chairperson of the Municipality Social Development Committee, was elected chairman of Barbardiya's community forest in 2010, and now leads the Kumbhar Adda Disappeared Warrior Memorial Park. His father, Sagunlal Chaudhary was a respected teacher in Barbardiya and the author of a Tharu newspaper that documented state atrocities. State security forces disappeared Sagunlal in 2002. Niranjan has since dedicated his life to fighting for justice and ensuring that the memory of those martyred and disappeared during the conflict is not erased.
