This course is part of the wind-based, performing ensemble of Lee Williams High School. These instruments include Brass & Woodwind instruments only (flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, tuba; and, color winds). The goal of this ensemble is to provide its students with the opportunity to develop and refine musicality and technical skills that will enable them to perform a wide variety of repertoire at a Grade 3 or higher in difficulty. Students will focus towards mastery in all areas including tone, intonation, balance, interpretation, and theory.
Performances are a mandatory part of the grade.
If interested in joining without previously having been in band, please meet with the director before adding this course to your schedule.

This is the percussive, performing ensemble of Lee Williams High School. These instruments include drums, hand percussion, and mallet-based instruments. The goal of this ensemble is to provide its students with the opportunity to perform a wide variety of repertoire at a Grade 3 of higher in difficulty. Students will focus on mastery in all areas including tone, intonation, balance, interpretation, and theory.
Performances are a mandatory part of the grade.

This is a non-performance class.
The purpose of this course is to engage students in discussion and application of the basic fundamentals of culter and music in Western Civilization. This course will connect History, Science, Language, and Literary Arts , creating a more cohesive understanding of how, jointly with music, culture progresses through time.
Eras of study include:  Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Classical,
Romantic, Modern, & Post-Modern.

This is a non-performance class.
The purpose of this course is to engage students in discussion and application of Rock'n'Roll as a genre of music. Students can expect to dive into the musical properties and history as far back as the late 1800s and anticipate studying music through the 1990s.
