Fifth grade students participating in Cerbat, Desert Willow, Hualapai & Manzanita Elementary Schools Beginning Bands will utilize “Standard of Excellence Enhanced Book 1” for learning to play their musical instrument in band classes. 

The comprehensive method book combines a strong performance-centered approach to learning the musical language along with activities in music theory, ear training, listening, composition, improvisation and interdisciplinary studies. Each book comes with access to online iPAS practice & assessment software containing supplemental instructional videos and full band accompaniments to musical selections found within the book. The optional system helps make practicing fun. 

Families may opt to purchase their own band book (approximately $12.99 plus tax/shipping) or request to use a school-provided book. School-owned books are to be returned at the end of the school year. Books may be purchased online or during the district's Instrument Rental & Supplies Night.
