The Conservation Leadership Development Program creates rigorous, entry-level opportunities for early and developing professionals (17 years or older) who want to commit to a career in conservation.
Depending on the term selected, participants are placed at an environmental organization from 8 weeks up to 1 year. They assist with projects that equip them with skills and leadership opportunities to move ahead in their career.
In addition to gaining valuable insights within the conservation field, AmeriCorps members will receive a range of benefits, including a living allowance and AmeriCorps education award in return for their service. Each cohort will be provided with a wide range of opportunities in many different disciplines relating to conservation.
Kupu’s extensive network of partner sites throughout the State of Hawai’i and the Pacific offer unique exposures to the fields of ornithology, botany, natural resource management, aquatic resource management, marine biology, Hawaiian cultural studies, agricultural science and more.
