Zoom Guest Speakers
We heard from several special guest Zoom speakers this year. Pat from the Anita B. Gorman Discovery Center taught us all about Missouri's owls. We also learned about Italy from Vera who is a student at Park University and grew up in Italy.
Engineering and Creative Thinking
Students used their creative thinking and engineering skills throughout the year. They created items out of Mystery Bag materials and shared them with the rest of the class. They also designed new toys and shared them with our class. Some of the engineering challenges they completed: coin bridges, rock stacking, turkey traps, squirrel/bird feeders, etc.
Research Projects
Each student chose a country to study for the year. They gathered sources and learned how to take notes. Then they took notes and created a bibliography. Finally, they used their notes to type paragraphs and create projects like fact cubes, comparison charts, and timelines.
