For the first time, Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi Kula Waena presented their Lā Mei Hoʻokūkū Mele. Inspired by the original from Kamehameha Schools Kapālama, as well as what KSH Kula Kiʻekiʻe has done with Hōʻike over the past two years, Kula Waena introduced this special new element into their traditional Lā Mei celebration.
This year's theme was Moananuiākea, celebrating our journey throughout the Pacific. Throughout the year, students took time to learn mele and hula to perform along with the song.

Two of our Kamehameha Schools Hawaiʻi haumāna, senior Kamahaʻo Halemanu and sophomore Wehiwaalani Gapero, host a special student edition of Hawaii News Now's Spotlight Now. Visit https://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/news/spotlight-now/ for an on-demand replay of the show.
Ahead of the original airing, these students joined Kainoa Carlson on HINowDaily on HNN to preview the two topics they are covering--the outmigration of Native Hawaiians and taking care of loko iʻa as a source of sustainability for our communities--and share more about their experience and the takeaways theyʻll have from being able to share their voices on this platform.
Your safety is our priority. You make the difference in how quickly issues and incidents are addressed and resolved. If you see something, say something.
There are a number of tools available for reporting incidents, but our hope is that you can reach out to a trusted adult directly to report activities that compromise the health and safety of our kauhale. Especially in the event of an emergency. But there are also two other tools that may be used to report non-emergency issues.
Use our Report It Now! form for non-emergency issues that can be addressed in the moment. If the safety of our learning environment, quality of our spaces or the health and well-being of you or your peers is being compromised, please report it!
Continue using the Hiʻikua Student Helpline for issues that may not be able to be addressed in the moment, but should be addressed. Reporting through Hiʻikua is confidential, anonymous (if desired) and available 24/7, 365 days a year. File a Hiʻikua report.
If something isn't pono, we want to hear from you.
Purchase tickets to KS Hawaiʻi events like games and performing arts performances and support our students.
