Start Your KCI Makerspace Membership!

You must be a currently enrolled Foothill student.

EVERYONE who uses the Makerspace must be a currently enrolled Foothill student (yes, this includes FHDA faculty!).  You will be enrolled into the free non-credit LINC 401 and LINC 402 courses by participating in the Makerspace.

Enrollment at Foothill is free, and the non-credit courses are also free.  While this process is mandatory, there is no cost to you at all!

Create a SuperSaas Account and complete the membership form.

Makerspace orientations, trainings, and equipment reservations are by appointment only, and all appointments must be made through our scheduling system, SuperSaas.  The first time you access the system, you will need to create an account and fill out a membership form.

As a member, you will receive 12 credits each month to spend on reservations and training appointments. Credit costs will vary depending on the amount of resources required.

Reservations are required for ALL makerspace access and use!

Make an Appointment for an Orientation

This is a 30-minute session where a staff member will show you around the facility, answer any questions you may have, and explain important procedures and safety information. You can begin using the Makerspace immediately after your Orientation appointment! (Although you will also need a training appointment to use equipment.)

Reservations are required for ALL makerspace access!

Get Trained on Machines

The KCI Makerspace equipment is industry-grade, which means that it is complicated and dangerous to use without proper training. Even a small mistake can cause tens-of-thousands of dollars of damage, or significant injuries to you and other people in the space. You must be trained and certified by a staff member in order to be allowed to use a piece of equipment.  Once you complete basic trainings, you will have access to advanced training calendars. Basic trainings cost 2 credits and advanced trainings cost 3 or 4 credits.

Reservations are required for ALL makerspace access and trainings!

Reserve Equipment

Once you are trained on a machine, you may book it for your use whenever the space is open and the machine is available.  Reservations are required for all equipment use. You will gain access to equipment reservation calendars after completing trainings.  Credit costs for equipment reservations vary depending on the cost of materials and the amount of resources used.

Reservations and prior certifications are required for ALL equipment use!
