This page has been developed to provide Leaders of Experiential Learning (LELs) with tools to support their work. LELs are encouraged to share these with educators where applicable.
These resources were developed for OCTE by Experiential Learning and other Board leads and educators. They are accessible to all educators, OCTE membership is not required to access these resources.
This site, hosted by OCTE, has been created for educators as a one stop shop for experiential learning resources and opportunities that can be offered to students in face-to-face, blended and distance learning models. The focus has been to share no cost opportunities that support curriculum and pathways exploration. Please feel free to share with educators in your Boards. (FL)
Virtual Field trips are a great way to engage learners in the 21st century. This document will help educators develop a rich and authentic virtual field trip connected to curriculum expectations, global competencies, assessment, and evaluation, with student well-being in mind.
The experiential learning cycle is composed of three distinct phases that are directly connected to student learning: students participate in an experience; they reflect on that experience to make meaning and they apply what they’ve learned to familiar and new contexts. The experiential learning cycle can be leveraged as an important process when considering criteria for assessment. The assessment and evaluation resources created by OCTE in this package include suggestions for where and when to assess experiential learning; an assessment chart with teacher prompts specific to experiential learning; suggestions for co-creation of learning goals and success criteria and samples for educators to consider.
