- Autumn 1-Invasion Games and Gymnastics
Invasion Games
I can develop passes specific to each invasion game (push:hockey, chest, bounce, shoulder; netball, backwards; tag rugby)
I can develop passing and dribbling to create space for attacking opportunities.
I can begin understanding the importance of defending
Gymnastics Unit 1
To become increasingly competent and confident to perform skills more consistently
Be able to perform in time with a partner and group
Use compositional ideas in sequences such as changes in height, speed and direction
- Autumn 2- Football and Dance
Football
Introduce some defensive skills
Dribbling in different directions using different parts of thier feet
Passing for distance
Evaluating skills to aid improvement
Dance Unit 1
Work to include freeze frames in routines
Practise and perform a variety of different formations in dance
Develop a dance to perform as a group with a set starting positions
- Spring 1- Basketball/Netball and Gymnastics
Basketball/Netball
To increase confidence and selection of basic skills such as dribbling, throwing and shooting
Develop a range of ball handling skill
Use footwork rules in a game situation and explore basic marking
Gymnastics Unit 2
Develop an increased range of body actions and shapes to include in a sequence
Define muscle groups needed to support the core of thier body
Refine taking weight on small and large body parts e.g. hands and shoulder
- Spring 2- Tennis and Dance
Tennis
Explore different shots (forehand, backhand)
Work to return the serve
Demonstrate different court positions in gameplay
Dance Unit 2
Developing choreography and devising skills in relation to a theme
Exploring dynamic quality and formations to communicate character
Concentrating on one simple theme throughout and linking all activities to the communication of this to an audience
- Summer 1- Cricket and OAA( Outdoor Adventurous Activity)
Cricket
To develop the range of cricket sakills they can apply in a competitive contect
Choose and use a range of simple tactics in isolation and an a game context
Consolidate existing skills and apply with consistency
OAA(Outdoor Adventurous Activity)
Work well in a team or group within defined and understood roles
Plan and refine stratagies to solve problems
Identify the relevance of and use of maps,compass and symbols
Identify what they do well and suggest wht they could do to improve
- Summer 2- Athletics and Rounders
Athletics
Using running, jumping and throwing stations, children investigate in small groups different ways of performing these activities
Using a variety of equiptment, ways of measuring and timing, comparing the effectiveness of different styles of runs, jumps and throws
Rounders
To develop a range of rounders skills that can be applies in a competitive context
Choose and use a range of simple tactics in isolation and a game context
Identify different positions in rounders and the roles of those positions
