Brief History

The Big Red Band is a band based on great tradition and excellence since 1934. W.G. Skipworth was the founder and director of the Big Red Band from 1934-1952. The origin of Big Red derives from a community band who was the largest marching band in the state at the time. The iconic red uniforms were donated to the Kosciusko community band, and have been a long standing tradition ever since. We pride ourselves on upholding this standard that was set many years ago.
