Ko Huiamano, meaning 'gathering of thousands', is the first of the prototypes designed at the Co-Design Sprint which has been in the testing phase from the beginning of 2017. A Walk Through for stakeholders was held mid-August which detailed the testing to date and the progress with programme design.
In late February 2017 the whaanau met with a range of stakeholders in the Ko Huiamano prototype area to discuss what aspect/s of the prototype each is delivering and how they can help to test the prototype. Here are a series of photos from the workshop.
Over 2017, the Kootuitui whaanau group continued testing this prototype. With the continued support of The Southern Initiative, they connected with possible partners - Habitat for Humanity, the NZ Housing Foundation and Beacon Pathways to design a programme around Warm, Dry, Healthy Homes. Towards the end of the year, a few whaanau volunteered their homes as test cases to ascertain how the elements of this programme are applied in practice.
