What is Troop 58?
Troop 58 is a Scouting America Troop located at the Konko Church of San Francisco in Japan Town. Scouts in the troop learn life skills such as leadership, wilderness survival, first aid, and so much more. The troop is primarily led by scouts and offers a variety of leadership opportunities. Scouts are also given the opportunity to participate in camping trips, hikes, summer camp, community service, parades, and so much more!
Who can join Troop 58?
Troop 58 is open to both girls and boys ages 11-17 (kids younger can join the pack). Parents interested in being assistant scout masters or adult leaders must go through Youth Protection Training and training for their specific role. We are always looking for more scouts and leaders, so if you are interested, don't hesitate to contact us!
Where can I see Troop 58 in action?
Troop 58 can be seen at events and parades around Japan Town and San Francisco such as the Cherry Blossum Festival, Veterans Day Parade, Konko Church Bazaar, and varius other Scouting events. We go to Camp Royaneh and Wente Scout Reservation each summer and also go on varias camping trips throughout the year.
