As a parent, your usage depends on what you are trying to accomplish. Here is the "Cheat Sheet":

1. Use my.Scouting for Compliance

• Youth Protection Training (YPT): If you want to go on a campout, you must take your mandatory training here.

• Registration: This is where you officially join a pack/troop or renew your annual membership.

• Profile Management: Update your address, phone number, or email in the official BSA database.

2. Use Scoutbook Classic for Day-to-Day Tracking

• Progress: Check what requirements your child still needs for their next rank.

• Messaging: Many units use this as their primary email/calendar tool.

• Logs: Record hiking miles, service hours, and camping nights.

3. Use Scoutbook Plus for Quick Recording

• Direct Entry: This site is increasingly becoming the place where parents and leaders record "adventures" (for Cub Scouts) or "merit badges" (for Scouts BSA) because the interface is faster and more mobile-friendly than the "Classic" version.

• Activity Logs: If your unit has transitioned fully to the new platform, you will use this to log service and camping.
