LETRS Training

We currently have 13 staff across Kasson-Mantorville Schools who are going through the LETRS training provided by the Minnesota Department of Education.  LETRS stands for Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling and it is an intensive 144 hour training that combines live webinars, textbook reading, and online modules.  

Sound Walls

KM has created our own sound walls to support student's reading and spelling.  The sound walls we utilize combine the images from our different curricular resources and understanding of phoneme/grapheme relationships (the way different sounds can be spelled) to support our students' learning.   This understanding has been built from LETRS training provided by the Minnesota Department of Education.
