List of the courses:

1. Health, Safety and Environment

 Course Description: This course covers recognition, control, and regulation of safety hazards in the workplace.Topics include accident investigation, Workers Compensation, record keeping, training, machine guarding, facilities, personal protection, and fire protection. Upon completion, students should be able to recognize safety hazards and recommend strategies for
remediation and compliance.

2. Environmental Health

Course Description: This course is a co-requisite for health, safety and Environment course where students learned to do the hazard identification process and the relationship of people to their environment and how it affects their physical well-being. This course mainly focusing on the health issues that rising from environmental pollution in water, air and soil.The course Examines health issues, scientific understanding of the causes, and possible future approaches to control of the major environmental health problems. It mainly emphasizes on how the body reacts to environmental pollutants; physical, chemical, and biological agents of environmental contamination; vectors for dissemination (air, water, soil); solid and hazardous waste; susceptible populations; bio-markers and risk analysis; the scientific basis for policy decisions; and emerging global environmental health problems.


3. Environmental Engineering Fundamentals & Lab

Course Description: This course covers the fundamentals of environmental engineering. These fundamentals will serve the students to understand the current scenario of Environmental issues and how he/she will work on solving such issues as a future Environmental or Civil engineers. It is mainly focusing on the concepts and applications spanning the whole range of environmental engineering processes, including water and wastewater treatment, solid waste management, air pollution control, risk assessment, and pollutions prevention strategies. Beside the theoretical part of the course, Laboratories/field trip(s) will be conducted which will cover site observation, measurement techniques, and applications to solve the environmental engineering issues. Furthermore, local case studies will be addressed in this subject and students will be involved in solving the problems.


4. Environmental Science

Course Description: This course is designed for undergraduate students from college of Science and business. The course is an introductory course to Environmental science and management, which provides basic knowledge about Environmental issues, and how they are related to our daily life. Furthermore, this course covers the Environmental management system (EMS) and its importance in minimizing the environmental impacts on Environment.

5. University Experience:

Course Description: This course is designed to help students to adjust to a new life at KUST,
understand major issues which are related to his/her affairs as a student and some skills to reach
higher standards of academic achievements.

6. Intro to Engineering

Course Description: This course is an introductory engineering course exposing students to a cross section of topics in contemporary engineering disciplines to assist them with their education career choices. Students are taught to work in teams, introduced to the design
process. The history of the engineering profession and its relation to current national, social, industrial, ethical, and international issues and problems will be discussed.

7. Talent Science and Technology

Course description: The Talent Science and Technology Course is designed to inform students about basic of Economy, Critical Thinking, Mathematics, Sciences, Technology, and their life applications. The course will prepare students to enroll in science and math courses for both colleges: Business and Engineering. Therefore, the course emphasizes learning through continued assessment for each subject. The course is 15-weeks long with 3 hours instruction weekly.
