Over the years, Safer Internet Day has become a milestone on the online safety calendar. Safer Internet Day started in 2004 as an initiative of the EU SafeBorders project and was adopted by the Insafe network in 2005 as one of its first actions. It has transcended its traditional geographical scope and is now celebrated in more than 180 countries around the world.
The theme this year is once again 'Together for a better Internet' and this will be the 21st edition of the campaign #SID2024.
On 7th February, some of us had a break and others had term exams, but SID is not only celebrated one day, but throughout the BrAIny project from the beginning to the end. We are going to combine the Ethics of AI, well-being, society and SID to create a BrAInY Ethics Guideline of AI.
BrAInY Ideas on Artificial Intelligence – the Ethics of AI
Artificial Intelligence is already here: it has entered our world and is going to stay with us. It is a powerful invention that can make our lives much easier when used responsibly. AI-driven tools can undoubtedly enhance the process of learning, turning it into a more enjoyable experience where studying becomes faster, easier and funnier. By using AI wisely you can level up your studying and boost your creativity and productivity. However, by using it for cheating you may bring your own brain to sleep and become dependent on artificial intelligence.
In the BrAIny Language Box (Page 4.2) we asked you to read a story and decide if it was written by your English teacher or AI. The story was written by AI – most of you guessed it properly. As you can see, people can intuitively sense if AI was involved in creating something. Moreover, there are also tools available to detect AI-generated content. Plagiarism checkers use AI detectors to examine texts. Think about it before writing your next text😊
You are going to write stories in your international teams but first let’s learn how to use AI wisely to make the most of the experience and create fantastic stories – The Adventures of BrAInY eTwinners. The aim is not to create stories using AI, but to work on ethical considerations and improve outcomes.
Hopefully, we will offer the translations in our next eTwinning project
